Absconder Warrant & Obstructing a Police Officer

LOCATION: 105 ½ North 4^th Street, Beatrice, NE 68310

OFFENSE: Foot Pursuit and Absconder Warrant from Prison

On October 19, 2016, the Gage County Sheriff’s Office and the Beatrice Police Department attempted to locate an individual at 105 ½ North 4^th Street in Beatrice, after they had received information he was there and had numerous warrants for his arrest.

The information received indicated that 27 year old Howard McBurnett was currently at these apartments, and had an active Jefferson County Warrant along with an Absconder Warrant from Tecumseh State Correctional Institution. While searching the building, Gage County Deputies located McBurnett outside of the apartment complex and a foot pursuit ensued on Court Street. During a search of the area, McBurnett was located hiding in the bed of a pickup truck near 5^th and Court Street.

McBurnett was arrested for the active warrants and also charged with Obstructing a Police Officer. He was transported to the Gage County Detention Center where he was lodged for the offenses.
