CASE #: 2017-0487

On Friday, 01-27-2017, at approximately 2:51 p.m., deputies from the Gage County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the Beatrice Community Hospital Emergency Room to investigate a female being treated there who reported to hospital staff she had been in a motor vehicle accident.  Billiot reported to hospital staff she did not know the location of the accident or where her vehicle was left.

The investigation revealed that Brezi R. Billiott, age 20 of Beatrice had been driving an unlicensed 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier northbound on South 10th Road, made a right turn onto eastbound East Hickory Road, and had lost control of the vehicle, running off Hickory Road to the right and into the ditch.  Brezi was injured in the accident and was driven to the emergency room by friends.  A 16 year old juvenile was a passenger in  Billiot’s vehicle and was also injured, however she did not seek medical treatment.

Billiot told the investigating deputy her steering wheel had fallen down from the driving position and she could not steer the vehicle after making the right turn.

Neither Billiot nor the juvenile passenger were wearing seatbelts.  Alcohol is not considered to be a factor in the accident.

Brezi R. Billiot was issued citations for operating a motor vehicle without an operator’s license and for operating a motor vehicle without insurance and released back to the hospital for treatment.  The mother of the juvenile was contacted.  She came to the hospital and took custody of her daughter.
