An investigator for the Gage County Sheriff’s Office was notified by a Beatrice resident that he had received a scam phone call from 347-878-2932. According to the report, the phone call was a “robo-call” with an automated voice stating there were serious allegations made against him and he needed to call them back or an arrest warrant would be issued for him. The robo-caller did not use the resident’s name and he told the investigator he did not lose any money. The investigator cautioned the resident to monitor his financial accounts and mail for any fraudulent activity.
The Beatrice Police Department was advised of the report to the sheriff’s office.
The Gage County Sheriff’s Office urges residents to use caution when contacted by unknown persons, whether by mail, telephone, online, or in person. If you have any concerns, contact a family member, trusted friend, or your financial consultant/local bank for advice. If you believe it is a fraud, contact the local police department or call the Gage County Sheriff’s Office and ask to speak with an investigator.
