Assault on an Inmate

On 04/20/16 at approximately 1830 hours, Gage County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the jail for an assault involving inmates. 

Corrections Officers advised that Inmate Michael E. Alm, age 30 of Beatrice, had pushed Inmate Thomas Sailors, causing Sailors’ head to strike the steel door of the jail cell, which resulted in cuts to Sailors head.  The investigation determined that Alm became agitated and then pushed Sailors while the two of them were in a jail cell together. 

Sailors was transported to the Beatrice Community Hospital where the cuts on his head were glued shut.  Alm, who was in jail on unrelated charges, was arrested for an additional charge of Assault on an Inmate.
