Assist Other Agency

DATE & TIME:  04-16-22 at 2323 Hrs.  

LOCATION:  Hwy 136 and W Court St. 

OFFENSE:  Assist Other Agency

On 04-16-22 at 2323 hrs. the Gage County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and informed that they were involved in a highspeed pursuit that would be entering Gage County, and they were requesting assistance.

The Pursuit entered Gage County on Hwy 136 at reported speed in excess of 120 MPH.

The pursued vehicle was traveling northbound on Hwy 136 when a spike strip was successfully deployed by the Beatrice Police Department as the vehicle entered the city limits of Beatrice. The vehicle failed to negotiate the curve at Hwy 136 and W Court St, left the roadway and crashed. An individual was observed fleeing the vehicle on foot.

A search of the area was conducted by the Gage County Sheriff’s Office, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and the Beatrice Police department; to include a Beatrice PD K-9 unit.

A male was located and taken into custody.

The Nebraska State Patrol conduct the accident investigation.

There appears to have been no injury or damage to additional property due to the accident.
