Car / Deer Injury Accident

LOCATION:      Highway 77 between Pickrell Road and Chestnut Road

On May 17, 2016 at 2212 hours, the Gage County Sheriff’s Office responded to a car deer accident on Highway 77 between Pickrell Road and Chestnut Road. 

The vehicle, a 2012 Buick Verano, was traveling southbound when a deer entered the roadway. The vehicle collided with the deer causing front-end damage to the vehicle which disabled it. The airbags in the vehicle did deploy causing minor injuries to the driver’s arms. EMS was not contacted.

The driver was identified as 61 year old, Solveig C. Bischoff of Beatrice. Bischoff received minor injuries from the accident and was transported to Beatrice Community Hospital by a third party.  There were no other passengers in the vehicle.
