On Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at approximately 12:18 pm, the Gage County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to an apartment in southwest Wymore, Nebraska for a report of a 72-year-old male who had been found deceased by family members.

A deputy and an investigator responded to the apartment for the investigation. There was no sign of foul play and the deceased male had a history of medical issues. The family had taken him to his medical provider the previous day where he was examined and released back home. It is believed he passed away on 11-09-2021 after having gone to sleep in his bedroom the previous night.

The Beatrice Fire Department responded to the scene as well, but could not find any signs of life. 
The Gage County Attorney’s Office was notified as the county attorney is also the county coroner by Nebraska statute. The death was declared to be due to natural causes.

Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home was contacted and responded to take care of the deceased.
