Escapee Apprehended

DATE & TIME: 12/06/2016 1445 hours              

LOCATION: Gage County Detention Center                         

OFFENSE: Escape

On Tuesday December 6, 2016 at approximately 1445 hours a Correctional Officer was escorting an inmate back to their cell.  Once at the cell, the inmate pushed the Correctional Officer, and then shut a door trapping the officer. The inmate then ran out of the Detention Center.  The Correctional Officer called out the escape on their radio and the inmate was immediately apprehended in the front yard of the Sheriff’s Office by Deputies. 

Inmate Melissa Klassen is being charged with Escape.
