Fatality Heavy Equipment Accident

LOCATION:  10457 East Juniper Road, Filley                               

OFFENSE: Fatality Heavy Equipment Accident               

CASE #: 2016-5196               

On September 29, 2016 at 1946 hours the Gage County Sheriff’s Office along with the Nebraska State Patrol, Beatrice Fire and Rescue and Beatrice Rural Fire, responded to a roll over tractor accident at 10457 East Juniper Road, Filley, NE.

The preliminary investigation indicated that Ernest Kubr, age 54 of Filley, was operating a tractor moving a dirt pile, and for unknown reasons at this time, had lost control of the tractor causing it to roll down hill and on top of Mr. Kubr. Mr. Kubr was pronounced deceased on location after life saving measures were attempted by first responders. Mr. Kubr was alone at the time of the accident and was found by his fiancée.

The Gage County Coroner was on scene and no autopsy was ordered.

Next of kin have been notified. Foul play nor drugs or alcohol are suspected to be the cause of the accident.
