LOCATION: U.S. Highway 8 just East of South 23rd Road
OFFENSE: Two vehicle personal injury accident.

On Monday, 03-15-2016 at 1125 hours, Deputies with the Gage County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a two vehicle personal injury accident on U.S. Highway 8 near South 23rd Road.
On arrival, Deputies observed two vehicles on the scene, a KIA minivan with heavy front end damage and a Ford F-150 with severe damage to the rear portion of the truck.
The driver of the minivan, Cynthia Mcauliffe, 32, of Alexandria, NE, was being treated on the side of the road by a former employee of Beatrice Fire & Rescue. Beatrice Fire & Rescue and Wymore Fire & Rescue soon arrived on scene. Star Care was requested to the area to transport Mcauliffe to Bryan West due to the unknown severity of her injuries. Citation is pending.
The driver of the F-150, Donald Jurgens, 68, of Wymore, NE, refused any medical attention and was released at the scene.
Through the deputies investigation at the scene and Jurgens statement, Mcauliffe and Jurgens were both travelling East on U.S. Highway 8 when Mcauliffe attempted to pass Jurgens and ran into the back of his vehicle causing heavy damage to both vehicles.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene due to their damage.
