Injury Accident

LOCATION: SW 78 Lane & W Hickory Road Beatrice, NE 68310

OFFENSE: Injury Accident

On September 5th, 2019 at approximately 1515 hrs., members of Beatrice Rural Fire, Beatrice Fire and Rescue, and Deputies of the Gage County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the area of SW 78th Lane and W Hickory Road to a report of a car vs. tractor accident with injuries. The investigation shows that a red LX730 Case IH tractor driven by Lynford Gerber, 65 years of age of Beatrice, was westbound on W Hickory Road east of SW 78 Lane.

A black 1994 GMC Sierra K1500 driven by Heidi Clary, 37 years of age of DeWitt, NE, who was also westbound on Hickory Road, when her GMC pickup struck the rear of the mower attached to the tractor causing damage to both vehicles. The collision was due to distracted driving. Both drivers were transported to the Beatrice Community Hospital with nonlife threating injuries. Alcohol and speed are not considered to be factors. Clary was cited and released for no operator’s license, no proof of insurance, and careless driving.
