On December 25, 2016 at approximately 10:48 p.m., the Cortland Fire Department, Clatonia Rescue, the Lincoln Fire Department and the Gage County Sheriff’s Office responded to a one vehicle injury accident on US Highway 77 approximately 300 feet North of Aspen road.
A 2012 Cadillac was traveling northbound on US Highway 77 when it left the roadway and entered the east ditch. The vehicle continued to travel north onto the private property of 3958 US Highway 77. The vehicle then continued towards the residence striking trees and shrubs and striking the South wall of the residence, damaging the residence and the vehicle.
The driver of the Cadillac, 33 year old Derek Parrott of Omaha Nebraska, was transported by Lincoln Fire Department to BryanLGH West. His injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.
Seat belts were being utilized by the driver and air bags did deploy in the vehicle.
Neither drugs nor alcohol were suspected to be a causing factor in the accident.
The driver was cited for failure to maintain lane.
