Injury Accident on Sargent Road

Minor injuries were received in a one-vehicle rollover accident on Sargent Road near 13^th Street on Friday morning.

On Friday, May 12, 2017 at approximately 0900 hours, the Gage County Sheriff’s Office received information of a rollover injury accident that had occurred around 0730 hours on Sargent Road near 13^th Street.

The driver, John Mencl, 16, of Beatrice reported he was driving his 2001 Ford Explorer westbound on Sargent Road when he struck an unknown object in the roadway causing him to lose control, sliding into the south ditch, and rolling an undetermined number of times. Mencl’s vehicle was removed from the scene prior to law enforcement being notified.

Mencl, who sustained minor cuts and bruises, was later transported to the Beatrice Medical Center by a family member.

Restraints were not in use. Neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to have been a factor in the accident.  Investigation continues.
