On 07-10-17, a green Chevy Blazer traveling north on SW 89th road south of Highway 4, driven by Colton Blythe, age 16, lost control and started to fishtail on the gravel road. This action caused the Blazer to go off the road on the east side. According to the passenger Trey Ramirez, age 16, the vehicle rolled two times. The passenger was wearing his seatbelt and suffered a small cut on his hand. The driver (Colton Blythe) was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle landing in the roadway. Blythe was taken by life flight to Bryan West in Lincoln. Ramirez was treated at the scene and released to his parent.
The accident was investigated by the Gage County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the Nebraska State Patrol. Medical personnel on scene were Beatrice Fire and Rescue, Beatrice Rural Fire and Rescue and Star Care.
