One Vehicle Non-Injury Accident at Highway 8 and Highway 12

DATE & TIME: Sunday, February 3, 2019 at approximately 0800 hours

LOCATION: Highway 8 and Highway 112       

OFFENSE: One vehicle non-injury accident

On 02/03/2019 at approximately 8:00 A.M., Gage County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the intersection of Highway 8 and Highway 112 for a report of a vehicle in the northwest ditch and an individual walking around the area.

Further investigation showed Alan Murdock, 61 years of age of Barneston, NE, was driving his Chevy Blazer eastbound on Highway 8 when he reportedly fell asleep while driving, and ran off Highway 8 entering the north ditch and coming to rest at the bottom of a ravine, approximately 25 ft deep.

Murdock was not injured in the accident and was wearing a seatbelt.
