One Vehicle Injury Accident

DATE & TIME: 04-13-18 at approximately 1230 hours             

LOCATION: S 82^nd RD & E Dogwood RD      

OFFENSE: One Vehicle Injury Accident

The Gage County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a report of a red Cadillac Seville in a small creek on the southwest corner of S 82^nd RD and E Dogwood RD. Sheriff’s Deputies arrived and observed the vehicle and found the vehicle registered to Nicholas Cox, 34 years of age of Adams, NE. Cox was not at the scene when Deputies arrived. A resident nearby stated a female, Carley Sheffert, 34 years of age of Lincoln, NE, arrived at their residence and was asking for help. This female was given a ride to Firth, NE and due to circumstances in Firth, the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office had contact with Sheffert and she was transported to Detox due to being intoxicated. It is unknown at this time who the driver of the vehicle was and the whereabouts of Nicholas Cox. A search was conducted at the scene as well as a nearby residence belonging to a family member of Cox’s. Cox was not located at either location. Information gathered by the Gage County Sheriff’s Office indicates Cox was in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
