A Gage County Sheriff’s Office investigator was notified of a protection order violation by an inmate at the Gage County Detention Center. The male, 42-year-old Dominic James Lewis of Lincoln, Nebraska, had been arrested by another Gage County law enforcement agency on a Seward County warrant and was being housed in the Gage County jail.

The investigator, after being notified of the potential violation, spoke with the victim, reviewed jail video, and also reviewed the protection order from Saunders County, which prohibits him from calling or contacting the victim. The Gage County investigator then arrested Dominic Lewis and notified the Gage County Victim’s Advocate and the victim of the arrest.

None of the law enforcement agencies in Gage County were made aware of the victim’s phone number until this incident was reported. The jail subsequently blocked Lewis’ ability to call that phone number.
