CASE #:                2016-2367

A 71-year-old man was injured Tuesday morning while unloading a vehicle from a car trailer at Cortland Storage in Cortland Nebraska.

Randall Ziemann of Western, was assisting his son Brett Ziemann in unloading a vehicle from a car trailer into a storage unit on W. 3rd Street just before 11 a.m. The trailer’s winch malfunctioned allowing the car to roll back pinning Randall underneath the car between the trailer ramps and the vehicle’s fuel tank.

EMT’s, First Responders and Firefighters with Cortland Fire & Rescue responded to the scene along with the Gage County Sheriff’s Office.  Fire & Rescue personnel were able to free Randall from under the vehicle.  He was then flown to a medical facility via Star Care Air Ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.
