Search Warrant Leads to Arrest

LOCATION: 5042 E. Sargent Rd.; Beatrice, NE

OFFENSE: Criminal Possession of a Financial Transaction Device (Multiple counts); Circulation of a Financial Transaction Device (Multiple Counts); Possession of a Blank Financial Transaction Device (Multiple Counts); Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth); and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On 03/18/20 at approximately 8:00 AM Gage County Sheriff’s Deputies executed a search warrant at 5042 E. Sargent Rd. in relation to an investigation involving stolen and forged bank checks. During a search of the residence, deputies located several blank stolen checks as well as several stolen checks which had been “cleared” at the bank and indicated that the checks had been used to make purchases.  Deputies also located approximately ½ gram of suspected methamphetamine, two syringes, a spoon, and a meth pipe. Sonja Norman, age 41 of rural Beatrice, was located at the residence and placed under arrest for numerous charges related to passing and possessing stolen checks. Norman was also arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
