Gage County Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested 29-year-old Troy Lee Smith of Beatrice for a violation of the Nebraska Sex Offender Registration Act that occurred in the beginning of January.

After a warrant was issued Smith, who is on federal probation, was contacted by his probation officer and he came to the sheriff’s office and surrendered on the warrant. He was taken into custody at the sheriff’s office by an investigator and taken to the jail to be booked on the felony charge.
