Special Operations Group Activation

During the late evening hours of September 14th and early morning hours of September 15th, the Gage County Sheriff’s Office activated the Special Operations Group (S.O.G.) team, colloquially referred to as a S.W.A.T. team, to assist the Beatrice Police Department in apprehending a suspect in a protection order violation and other charges that occurred September 14th in Beatrice.

Shortly before midnight, the suspect was located at a residence in rural western Gage County and the scene was secured by the S.O.G. team and Beatrice Police SWAT team.

The negotiator for the S.O.G. team made contact with an adult male subject at a rural residence in western Gage County and at about 2:47 am, was able to convince him to come outside the residence where he was taken into custody by Gage County Sheriff’s Office S.O.G. team members and Beatrice police officers. The subject was then turned over to the Beatrice Police Department for their investigation and to file charges.

The family of the subject was notified by the S.O.G. team of the peaceful resolution of the incident.
