On Wednesday, January 15, 2020, investigators for the Gage County Sheriff’s Office were contacted by the Beatrice Police Department stating they were bringing a subject to the police department who had tried to cash a forged check at a bank in Beatrice. The check had been stolen out of a mailbox belonging to a resident of rural Pickrell.

The Gage County Sheriff’s Office investigator sat in on the interview of the suspect at the Beatrice Police Department. After the suspect, 24-year-old Kessler Nogle of Beatrice, gave incriminating statements to investigators, Kessler was arrested and given a criminal citation for theft of the mail and turned back over to the Beatrice Police Department who arrested him on charges associated with his arrest at the bank in Beatrice.
