Two Vehicle Accident

LOCATION: Hwy 136 / SW 117 Rd

OFFENSE: Two Vehicle Accident

Gage County Deputies were dispatched to the above location regarding a two vehicle injury accident. Leatha Christ a 72 year old female was driving a 2019 Nissan Rogue eastbound on Hwy 136. She was stopped on Hwy 136 waiting to turn North onto SW 117 Rd when her vehicle was struck from behind. The other vehicle, a 2014 Chevy Cruz, was driven by Allison Hoyt a 19 year old female from Beatrice. Hoyt stated she did not see the other vehicle stopped in the roadway until it was too late. Hoyt was cited for Following Too Close and released at the scene. 

Neither driver was severely injured. Christ was taken to Beatrice Community Hospital by a friend. Hoyt did not require medical attention. Alcohol was not a factor and seatbelts were in use. 

Beatrice Fire and Beatrice Rural Fire also responded to the scene.
