Two Vehicle Injury Accident

OFFENSE: Two Vehicle Injury Accident

CASE: 2019-5009

Two people were injured Thursday morning in a two-vehicle, head on collision, south of Lilac Road on U.S.  Highway 77.

On Thursday, September 19, 2019 at approximately 05:45 hours, Gage County Deputies, along with Beatrice Fire and Rescue, were dispatched to a two-vehicle injury accident on U.S. Highway 77, south of Lilac Road.

The accident investigation revealed, Deborah Cass 61, of Virginia was driving her 2011 Lincoln MKX Sport Utility southbound on U.S. Highway 77, when a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac driven by Matthew Jobman 18, of Beatrice, turned north onto U.S. Highway 77 from his driveway on the east side of Highway 77, crossing the center line, and  colliding with Cass's vehicle head-on.

Both Ms. Cass and Mr. Jobman where immediately transported to Bryan with serious injuries.

Airbags deployed in both vehicles. Restraints in use in the Cass vehicle, while no restraints believed to be in use in the Jobman vehicle.

Neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to have been a factor in the accident.
