Two Vehicle Injury Accident

OFFENSE: Two Vehicle Injury Accident
One-person was injured Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle accident, west of Jct. 34c Spur on E State Highway 41.
On Friday, November 08, 2019 at approximately 13:05 hours, Gage County Deputies, along with Adams Fire and Rescue, were dispatched to a two-vehicle injury accident on E State Highway 41 west of the Jct. 34c Spur.
The accident investigation revealed Jeffrey Neal, 63 of Hastings Nebraska had been eastbound on E. State Highway 41, driving a 2009 International Semi-Tractor-Trailer. After stopping at a construction zone traffic light, he was rear ended by a 2009 Pontiac G6 driven by Hayley Schroeder, 20 of Firth Nebraska.
Ms. Schroeder reported she and her passenger were looking at the deer in the field to the south, when she looked back to the road, she realized the semi in front of her had stopped. She tried stopping to prevent the collision, but it was too late.
Ms. Schroeder’s passenger Kaleigh Koehler, 18 of Springfield,Nebraska was transported to Bryan West by the Schroeder’s with non-life-threatening injuries.
Both front airbags deployed in the Schroeder vehicles. Restraints in use in both vehicles.
Neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to have been a factor in the accident.
