Warrant Arrest / Violation of the Sex Offender Registration Act

On Wednesday, 10-04-2017, at approximately 11:50 am, Jeremy Lynn Vater, age 35, of Wymore, Nebraska surrendered to deputies at the Gage County Sheriff’s Office on an arrest warrant for violation of the Nebraska Sex Offender Registration Act.

An investigator with the Gage County Sheriff’s Office had been notified by the Nebraska State Patrol that Jeremy Lynn Vater had failed to update his sex offender registration information as required during the month of August 2017. After completing a review of the case and applicable information on Vater, the investigator completed an affidavit for arrest and forwarded it to the Gage County Attorney’s Office.  A judge then issued a felony arrest warrant on Jeremy Lynn Vater.

After the issuance of the arrest warrant the Gage County Sheriff’s Office investigator had been in telephone contact with Vater and members of his family and convinced him to surrender himself on the warrant. When Jeremy Lynn Vater arrived at the sheriff’s office, the jail director took him into custody and notified the investigator.  Jeremy Lynn Vater was then taken to the jail and booked on the warrant.
