On Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at approximately 06:15 am, Southeast Communications received a call of a female in the area of Chautauqua Park, who appeared confused & disoriented. Officers from the Beatrice Police Department responded to the area but were unable to locate the female.
At approximately 12:15 pm, Communications received another call on this female, now walking near the river, north of Lilac Road and S. 10 Road. The caller reported, the female had walked into a corn field some time ago and he had not seen her again. Deputies were dispatched to the area to check on the welfare of the female.
Deputies searched the area for approximately three hours before she was located. She informed the deputies she was just out for a walk. Beatrice Rescue transported the female to the Beatrice Community Hospital to be checked for heat stroke or other heat related issues.
